Bruce Willis’s daughter opens up about the actor’s health: “I hug him even though he doesn’t recognize me”
Rumer Willis wanted to answer the questions of her followers, who asked her about the actor and his frontotemporal dementia.
Bruce Willis’ health continues to be a source of concern not only in Hollywood but around the world. The beloved actor, known for his charisma and iconic roles, retired from the film industry after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a condition that has dramatically reshaped his life and that of his family.
Bruce Willis’ family cherishing time left together
According to his eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, the family remains focused on cherishing their time with him. In a series of Instagram Stories, Rumer opened up about her father’s condition and the moments they still share.
She admitted she’s not sure if her dad always recognizes her, but that doesn’t matter to her:
“I’m so grateful that when I go there and give him a hug, whether he recognizes me or not, he can feel the love I’m giving him—and I can feel it back from him. I still see a spark in him, and he can feel the love I’m giving.”
Not an easy time
For Rumer, that love is what truly matters right now: “I just feel grateful to be able to go there with Luetta, spend time with him, feel the love he has for me, and love him and be with him.”
When a follower asked directly about Bruce’s health, Rumer responded candidly: “People always ask me this question, and I think it’s a little hard to answer, because the truth is that nobody with frontotemporal dementia is doing well.”
Still, she emphasized that her father is “doing okay, considering he has frontotemporal dementia,” adding that traditional measures of wellness don’t really apply anymore.
